Red-Green Alliance
The Red-Green Alliance or parliament candidates have on several occasions expressed anti-Israel views and some would even claim that they are on the verge of being branded anti-Semitic.
The Left Socialists was founded by 4 people from the Socialists People’s Party. The Left Socialists has a notorious history of hatred towards Israel and Jews. In the 80ies prominent figures from the party traveled to Beirut, Lebanon to meet senior PFLP representatives. The result was a statement that read:
“LS and PFLP agrees that there is no solution to neither the Palestinian nor the Jewish question without a total confrontation with the Zionist movement and Israel.”
Anne Grete Holmsgaard, who also participated in Lebanon, has on another occasion stated that she:
Do not consider the Palestinian struggle terrorism, but a struggle of liberation.
She also published the book “Zionism’s Israel” with Kit Broholm, a former member of the Danish Communist Party and Left Socialists. Among other things, she wrote in the book that:
“The Zionist policy towards the Jews in the Diaspora has many dangerous perspectives. The fight against assimilation and [the will] to maintain at least some Jewish isolation can act as a breeding ground for Jews in situations of crises to be portrayed as a special group – as scapegoats. In addition is the Jewish bond to Israel in reality a tie to certain class forces. Israel’s consistent pro-imperialist alliances (both to the U.S. but also to other pro-imperialist regimes like the South African, the regime in El Salvador, Somoza in Nicaragua, Sadat in Egypt and others) ties not only the Jews in Israel, but also the Jews in the Diaspora to the imperialism in any international conflict. Under the pretext of wanting to salvage the Jews of the world, They [The Jews] automatically gets pulled in by the Zionist movement on the side of the imperialist and reactionary forces in the struggle between imperialist and socialist forces. “
Her co-author, Kit Broholm, wrote in the 80ies that:
The fight, that necessarily must be directed against the repressive colonial state, will also be directed against Jews all over the world, to the extent that the Zionists succeeds in getting the Jews to identify themselves with Zionism and defend Israel.
Holmsgaard has been heavily criticized for glorifying violence and using anti-Semitic clichés, both orally and written.
