DR – Danish Broadcast Company 

A state owned broadcasting company, being the largest of all news outlets in Denmark, it is one of two principal sources of information. DR had monopoly until 1988, where TV2 started broadcasting. DR has since the 60ies been accused for being “the mercenaries of the red” i.e. employing a hidden agenda to support the left-wing. In 2009 72% of the danish population daily watched a specific television channel for at least 5 minutes nonstop, of these 72%, around 68% watched DR channel at some point. Combined with TV2, the total amount watching these two enterprises’ channels, constitutes around 67% of all minimum 5 minutes nonstop watching. This equals to around 2,75 million people being exposed to DR on a daily basis. Around 1.9 million people view DR’s website on a monthly basis.

TV 2

TV2 is a fully state-owned joint-stock company. It has been for sale since 2001. Being the second largest of all news outlets in Denmark, it is the second principal source of information. Contrary to DR, TV2 has been accused for broadcasting too “bourgeois” content. In 2009 72% of the danish population daily watched a specific television channel for at least 5 minutes nonstop, of these 72%, around 81% watched a TV2 channel at some point. Combined with DR, the total amount watching these two enterprises’ channels, constitutes around 67% of all minimum 5 minutes nonstop watching. This equals to around 3,25 million people being exposed to TV2 on a daily basis. Around 1.7 million people view TV2′s website on a monthly basis.

Information is a Danish newspaper and online news site. The daily circulation stands around 25.000, and visitors to their online news site is approximately 120.000 on a daily basis. Almost 15.000 like this newspaper on Facebook. They are without doubt regarded as the most leftist newspaper in Denmark. They co-operate occasionally with The Guardian and The Independent, both also regarded leftist.
